CHAPTER 5 · BOTH EDITIONS
First contact that sounds like you
Build a small library of starting points. Each message needs a real reason, a relevant connection, and an easy way for the person to decline.
Put it to work
- Write three versions: a referral introduction, a response to an inquiry, and a reconnection.
- Example starter: You mentioned [need]. I have [relevant information]. Would it be useful if I sent it? Personalize before using.
- Save approved drafts as text replacements. For video, keep the message short, caption it, and check the destination before sending.
TRADE EDITION
First-contact library
Name the relevant business problem without pretending to know private company information. Video is optional.
Starter files are ready to adapt. CSV files open in spreadsheet apps. Printable pages can be filled locally and printed; they do not save or submit entries.
DIRECT SALES EDITION
First-contact library
Ask permission before sharing product or opportunity details. Do not send the same invitation to everyone in your contacts.
